Celebrating 21 Years of Quality Fleet Service
Quality Fleet Service is celebrating 21 years in business this September. Founded by Nicholas Moynihan in 2005, QFS has grown from a small truck repair and parts operation into a full-service equipment dealership supporting customers across New England and beyond. A lot has changed over the years, but service has remained at the center of the business.
Here is a look back at the milestones that helped shape QFS.
2005–2012: Quality Fleet Service Is Founded
Nicholas Moynihan founded Quality Fleet Service at age 20 after purchasing a small truck repair and parts business. He described the early company as a “one-man show,” working day and night to grow it. Those early years established the hands-on, service-first approach that became the foundation of QFS.
2013–2016: Expanding Beyond the Shop
Quality Fleet Service developed into a full-service repair operation supporting heavy construction equipment, highway trucks, industrial and marine engines and generator sets. QFS added its Heavy Equipment Transportation division in 2013, expanding the company’s capabilities beyond service and repair. This gave customers another way to rely on QFS, whether a machine needed to be moved, serviced or supported in the field.
2017–2018: QFS Establishes Its South Hadley Headquarters
QFS officially moved into its South Hadley headquarters in 2017. The new facility gave the growing company more room for service, parts, equipment and future expansion while establishing the location that remains the center of QFS today.
2019: QFS Expands Into Equipment Sales
By 2019, the company had grown into a 15,000-square-foot facility with factory-trained technicians, mobile service vehicles, hauling equipment and authorized engine-service relationships with major manufacturers. Hyundai Construction Equipment added Quality Fleet Service to its dealer network that fall, making QFS an official Hyundai dealer in Massachusetts and expanding the company beyond service and engine support into complete construction equipment sales. Manitou also joined the lineup before the end of the year, bringing telehandlers, skid steers, track loaders and other material-handling equipment to customers. Together, the additions helped establish QFS as a full equipment dealer backed by the technical service and support the company had already built its reputation on.
2020: Bell Trucks America Joins the Lineup
Quality Fleet Service became a Bell Trucks America dealer in May 2020, expanding its equipment offering into articulated and off-highway trucks. The addition came during COVID, a period that forced businesses everywhere to adapt. QFS remained steady through the uncertainty, kept its full team employed and continued supporting customers.
2021: QFS Expands Deeper Into Forestry and Launches Its Rental Division
QFS joined the Bandit Industries dealer network in March 2021, supporting Bandit customers in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut with equipment sales, parts and service. The lineup expanded QFS deeper into forestry with whole-tree chippers, horizontal grinders, forestry mowers and slow-speed shredders. QFS also began offering rental equipment that year, creating another major part of the business that customers continue to rely on today.
2023: Expanding Into Recycling and Material Processing
Eggersmann joined the QFS lineup in 2023, expanding the company into shredding, screening and recycling equipment. The addition opened another specialized market while building on QFS’s growing mix of equipment sales, rentals, parts and service.
2024: QFS Expands East and Adds Liebherr
One of the biggest milestones in recent QFS history came in August 2024 with the acquisition of New England Road Equipment in Brockton, Massachusetts. The acquisition gave QFS a second physical location, expanded the company’s reach into eastern Massachusetts and brought Liebherr into the equipment lineup. Representing Liebherr had been a long-term goal for Nick, making the addition an important milestone for the company.
2026: Continuing to Grow
Quality Fleet Service became the sole U.S. distributor of Powerhand attachments in January 2026, bringing the manufacturer’s specialized forestry and vehicle recycling attachments to customers across the country. The partnership expanded QFS beyond a regional equipment dealership and into a national distribution role, with support for sales, parts and service in the United States.
QFS became an authorized IROCK dealer for New England in June 2026, adding crushers, screens and conveyors to its sales and rental offering across Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.
QFS is also continuing its physical expansion with a new location currently under development in Bellingham, Massachusetts, expected to open in late 2026 or early 2027.
Quality Fleet Service Today
Quality Fleet Service is now a two-location New England equipment dealership with more than 55 employees, more than 25 dealer-trained technicians and a fleet of more than 30 service and transport vehicles.
The company has grown well beyond the small repair business it started as in 2005, but the foundation has stayed the same: support the customer, know the equipment and put service first.
21 Years and Counting
Twenty-one years of growth has been built by the people who work here, the customers who continue to trust QFS and the manufacturers and partners who have grown with us along the way.
