2024 Liebherr Drilling rigs LB series LB 55

The LB 55 drilling rig is the most powerful representative of the well-known LB series from Liebherr. Besides the common Kelly drilling other methods like continuous flight auger drilling, drilling with full displacement tools or double rotary drilling can be applied. The heavy-duty machine with an enormous torque of 550 kNm is very compact in design which guarantees a cost effective transportation and fast mobilisation on site. The rig is equipped with a powerful diesel engine which convinces through low consumption and reduced emissions. In combination with the board hydraulics and the operator-friendly rotary drive the LB 55 is designed for continuous operation and very fast drilling cycles.

Features may include:

• Strong winches enable highest performance even under the most difficult conditions. Furthermore, the noise emission is considerably reduced thanks to their elastic mounting.

• The maximum drilling depth for Kelly drilling with 5-fold Kelly bar has been increased to 100 m and so significantly improved.

• Basic machine and leader with all hydraulic hoses connected can be transported in one piece. The minimized assembly work allows for quick and easy transportation of the machine between jobsites. Hence, time and money is saved even before operation starts.

• Both the counterweight and the leader are modularly constructed. This enables quick and easy assembly and flexible application.

• The leader top is designed for different drilling axes and is therefore suitable for all applications.

• This includes a modern air-conditioning system with improved airflow, an optimized field of vision and increased noise protection, as well as an orthopaedic operator’s seat with integrated heating and cooling.
